Project Name: The Sky Is the Limit

Activities:

  • Reading excerpts from Dante's The Divine Comedy, Part III Paradiso
  • Virtual Collaboration, January 2025
  • Workshop week in Ylitornio, February 2025:  Creating digital stories inspired by the poem using VR and 3D

Results:

Before the workshop week participants (23 in total) read and analysed excerpts from Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, part III, Paradiso. Their goal was to create virtual 3D landscapes inspired by Dante's journey and the celestial bodies described in the poem - Jupiter, Venus, moon spots, comets... faith, light, enlightenment.  During the workshop week, which was organised in Finland, the participants created 5 digital stories using VR tools.

Project Name: The Sky Is the Limit

  • Reading excerpts from The Finnish national epic Kalevala (runes 1, 47 and 49) and Tove Jansson's Comet in Moominland

  • Workshop week in Perugia, November 2025: Creating immersive digital stories inspired by the texts using VR and AI

Results:

Before the workshop week participants (31 in total) read and analysed runes from Kalevala, and Tove Jansson's book Comet in Moominland. Their goal was to create immersive and interactive digital stories inspired by the three runes and the Moomin-book and the celestial bodies described in them. During the workshop week, which was organised in Italy, the participants created 5 digital stories using AI and VR tools.
